We send a clean, plain-English referral agreement that satisfies CRPC 1.5.1 / MRPC 1.5(e). Your client signs an informed-consent disclosure at intake.
3. We work the case
Investigation, demand, litigation, trial — we handle it. You receive periodic status updates and remain as involved (or hands-off) as you want.
4. Get paid at recovery
When the case resolves, your referral fee is paid directly out of the attorney fee — fully disclosed on the closing statement.

Yes. California Rule of Professional Conduct 1.5.1 and Michigan Rule of Professional Conduct 1.5(e) both permit fee divisions between lawyers when the client gives informed written consent and the total fee is reasonable. Every Kocaj Law referral is memorialized in writing and complies with these rules.
What types of cases does Kocaj Law accept on referral?

Do I have to stay involved after I refer the case?
That's your call. Some referring attorneys remain co-counsel and stay close to the file; others fully hand off the matter. Either way, your fee is preserved by the written agreement.
When is the referral fee paid?
At the time of recovery — settlement or verdict — directly out of the attorney fee on the disbursement statement. If we don't recover for the client, no fee is owed by anyone.
